Therapy for Grief & Loss

Grief can follow many kinds of loss — the death of someone important, the end of a relationship, changes in health or circumstances, or the loss of a future you had imagined. There is no single way that grief is supposed to feel. You may experience sadness, anger, guilt or numbness, find yourself preoccupied with what has happened, or move between periods of coping and times when the loss feels overwhelming.

Sometimes grief becomes intertwined with other parts of life, affecting relationships, sleep, work or your sense of who you are. You may also find that people around you expect you to be moving on when your experience of the loss is very different.

Finding your way through loss

Therapy offers a place to talk about your loss without needing to minimise it, make sense of it quickly or grieve in a particular way. We can explore what the loss means to you, the feelings and experiences surrounding it, and how it may be affecting other areas of your life.

The aim is not to “move on” from someone or something that mattered but to gradually find a way of living with what has happened while making room for life beyond the loss.
