A place to understand what’s happening and find a way forward

I offer individual and couples therapy in Auckland and online, supporting people through anxiety and depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss and periods of significant change.

Being in therapy

Therapy is different from most conversations in everyday life. There is time to stay with what you are experiencing rather than having to explain it neatly, find a solution or move quickly on. You can bring what is on your mind even when it feels confused, contradictory or difficult to put into words.

Over time, paying closer attention to your feelings and experiences can help you notice connections that may not have been apparent before, including patterns in how you relate to yourself and to other people. Some of these patterns may have developed much earlier in life and continue to shape the present in ways that are difficult to change through thinking alone.

Therapy is not about someone else having the answers or telling you what you should do. It is a process of developing a deeper understanding of yourself within a relationship where there is room to be curious about what emerges and to find your own way forward.

Starting therapy

Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar, particularly if you haven't done it before. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about or having found the right words to describe what is happening.

The first few sessions give us time to get to know one another and begin to understand what has brought you to therapy, what is important to you, and what you would like to be different. There is no expectation that you disclose everything at once — the work develops gradually, at a pace that allows trust and understanding to build.

In-person and online therapy

I offer face-to-face appointments from my therapy room in Glen Eden, West Auckland, as well as online sessions throughout New Zealand.
